PREPARING YOUR STEARNS

®

INFLATABLE CANOE

The STEARNS

®

Inflatable canoe is designed for recreational use and

can be used in a number of settings. Every usage has its own set of
required skill levels and dangers. Be sure you are prepared for each
use before attempting it and you understand the inherent dangers.

Inflation Setup
Use a STEARNS

®

“bellows” style foot pump (Model B502) or

equivalent pump to inflate your canoe. Use caution not to over inflate
your canoe. (Pump not included)
For proper inflation and safety, the user must make sure that the wall
inflation valves are sealed properly.

NEVER USE COMPRESSORS, CO2 OR COMPRESSED AIR. DO

NOT OVER-INFLATE THE FLOOR OR THE SIDE CHAMBERS.

5.1 QUICK START TO INFLATING YOUR CANOE

Follow steps below. If you do not understand or are unfamiliar with the
following quick start steps, refer to the following pages for detailed
explanation.

1. Unfold and layout canoe on flat level ground
2. First inflate floor chamber to 1.0 psi, (0.07 bar), do not over inflate

(see page 11)

3. Partially inflate both side chambers
4. Make sure the 2 air valves are aligned with the holes in the cover
5. If any twisting is apparent with the bladders, unzip and align

bladders to cover (see page 10, section 5.3)

6. Next, inflate both main chambers equally until full or 1.5 psi

(0.10 bar), do not over inflate (see details on page 11)

7. Inflate both seats until cushion feels semi-firm, do not over inflate

(see page 11)

8. Make sure all valves are tightly secured and seats are properly

placed
