RoHS

Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)

became European Law in February 2003. This directive

restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the

manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical

equipment. It is closely linked with the Waste Electrical

and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE), which sets

collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical

goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the

problem of huge amounts of toxic e-waste.

RoHS restricts the use of the following six substances:

• Lead

• Mercury

• Cadmium

• Chromium VI (also known as hexavalent chromium)

• PBB

• PBDE

Throughout 2007 Eaton will be updating our domestic and international products to meet RoHS and WEEE

standards. As part of this process all Powerware product part numbers will be changed. We will implement these

changes in stages and will continuously send our partners rollout updates via e-mail. In addition, the online version of

the price book and reference guide on the UPS Salesweb will be continuously updated and will be the most accurate

source for product numbers and prices.

Visit www.powerware.com for updated RoHS compliance information.
