6. OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

6.1 GENERAL

6.1.1. Verify RESET

6.1.1.1. Verify that the reset button is depressed before turning power on.

6.1.2. Connect the Battery

6.1.2.1. Connect the battery cable to the batteries and the Temp-Plate.

6.1.2.2. If only one battery is used, connect the free plug to the shorted

receptacle provided in the Temp-Plate.

6.1.2.3. Observe polarity when using the single cell adaptor.

6.1.2.4. If battery polarity is reversed, a voltage fault condition will be

indicated and further operation of the instrument will be inhibited.

6.1.3. Verify Voltmeter

6.1.3.1. The digital voltmeter will read battery voltage if the selector switch is

in the internal position.

6.1.3.2. Select the scale consistent with the battery voltage.

6.1.4. Program the number of cells.

6.1.4.1. Enter the number of cells of the battery

6.1.4.2. When working with more than one battery enter the TOTAL number of

cells.

6.1.4.3. Note 1: In the full discharge mode the number of cells is ignored.

6.1.4.4. Note 2: In the Float and Peak voltage modes, the cell selector becomes

a nominal battery voltage selector. See
