How to Replace Internal Batteries

C A U T I O N

The UPS battery trays are heavy (28.1 kg/62 lb). A minimum of two people are required
to lift the battery trays into the UPS chassis.

S

Pull the battery trays out onto a flat, stable surface. The battery trays are unsupported
when you pull them out of the UPS.

To replace the internal batteries:

1.

Switch the battery breaker on the UPS rear panel to the OFF (O)
position.

2.

Remove the lower UPS front cover (see Figure 22).

3.

Unscrew and set aside the battery retaining bracket (see Figure 23).

4.

Pull the battery trays out onto a flat, stable surface (see Figure 24).
See “Recycling the Used Battery or UPS” on page 46 for proper
disposal.
