2. Install the batteries according to the orientation symbols on the circuit panel.

3. Replace the battery compartment panel and securely tighten the screw.

The DM-2A mark II contains a built-in NiMH battery charger. Other battery types (such as

alkaline batteries) can be used to power the DM-2A but you MUST remove these batteries
before attaching an external power source. Use only rechargeable NiMH AA batteries in
your DM-2A mark II gauge. Never attempt to recharge alkaline batteries.

Checking Battery Health

Your gauge features a battery health indicator that displays the current status of the battery

life while viewing the main operational screen. The battery health symbol is located at the
upper-left corner of the gauge display and indicates the battery’s remaining charge (as shown
next). Batteries are charged via an available external power source – such as the AC adapter or
an umbilical cable attached to a powered fan – regardless of whether the gauge is on or off.

To determine battery health, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the gauge by pressing the O

n

/O

ff

button once (as shown next).

2. The introduction screen will be displayed (shown next). After a short delay, the screen

will display the gauge model number, serial number, and calibration date.

3. Press the O

n

/O

ff

button a second time to view the main display screen. Locate the

battery health symbol at the upper-left corner (as shown next).
