Continuous Power Supply
A single active is required from the switchboard if the solar storage tank is
connected to a continuous power supply.
The active from the continuous circuit must be connected to the active terminal
marked A1 (marked “Controller” on the wiring diagram) on the terminal block of
the solar storage tank.
A wire is supplied bridging the two active terminals marked A1 and A2 (marked
“Controller” and “Booster” respectively on the wiring diagram) on the terminal
block of the solar storage tank. It is required if the water heater is connected to
a continuous power supply and an additional manual isolating switch is not
installed in the power supply circuit to the booster heating unit. Refer to the
If the water heater is connected to a continuous power supply and an additional
manual isolating switch is installed, the active to the water heater will need to
be looped prior to the switch with the looped active wire bypassing the switch
and connecting directly to the active terminal marked A1 (marked “Controller”
on the wiring diagram) on the terminal block of the solar storage tank. This
supply must remain uninterrupted to allow the solar controls to operate and
solar gain to be achieved. The second active wire, which will supply power
through the switch, must be connected to the active terminal marked A2
(marked “Booster” on the wiring diagram) on the terminal block of the solar

The wire bridging the two active terminals marked A1 and A2 (marked
“Controller” and “Booster” respectively on the wiring diagram) on the terminal
block is not required and must not be connected if a manual isolating switch is
installed.
