Press MULTI JOG, then turn it to
select the start time.

Press MULTI JOG, then turn it to
select the end time.

After you press MULTI JOG in this step,
the end time is automatically set to one
hour after the start time.

If you selected FM or AM in step 2:

Press MULTI JOG, then turn it to select
the desired preset channel.

If you selected a source other
than FM or AM in step 2:

Proceed to the next step.

When setting Once timer:

Proceed to the next step.

When setting Weekday and Week-
end timers:

Execute “Setting your own weekdays
and weekends” on the next page if nec-
essary.

When setting Rec timer:

Execute “Setting the day and selecting
the recorder for Rec timer” on the next
page.

Press MULTI JOG.

“Timer On” is displayed and the timer
you set turns on.

Prepare the source specified in
the timer.
When setting Once, Weekday, or
Weekend timers:

Prepare the source for playback (e.g.,
insert a CD).
Even if MEMORY mode or RANDOM
mode is selected for playback, an MD
will play in normal mode when the timer
is triggered.
Adjust the volume before proceeding to
the next step. When the timer turns on
the unit, the volume will be set to the
volume level when you switched off the
unit.

When setting Rec timer:

Insert an MD (with the record-protect
tab closed) into the unit.
Adjust the recording level, or turn the
Level Sync function on or off (see
page 39) if necessary.

Turn off the unit.

The timer does not operate if the power
is on. Make sure to turn off the unit after
you set the timer.

ONCE = Once Timer

W.DAY = Weekday Timer

W.END = Weekend Timer

= Rec Timer
