CR FUNCTIONS
Playback
VCR
1
Press POWER button on the remote control or
the main unit.
2 Insert a prerecorded tape, then press PLAY B
(VCR) button to begin playback.
NOTE:
• When a tape without record tab is inserted, the unit will start
playback automatically.
• Tracking will be automatically adjusted upon playback. To
adjust the tracking manually, press the CHANNEL K/ L but-
tons on the main unit or CHANNEL K/ L buttons on the
remote control.

Press STOP C (VCR) button to stop playback.
4 Press C STOP/A EJECT button on the main
unit to eject the tape.
Recording
Normal Recording
Before recording, make sure:
• You can ONLY watch the same TV program that is
being recorded.
• Stereo or SAP is selected (page 17).
• The desired channel should be selected by press-
ing the Number buttons on the remote control or
CHANNEL K/L buttons on the main unit.
• A tape with a record tab should be loaded inside the unit.
• The desired recording speed should be selected in SP
(standard play) or SLP (super long play) mode by
pressing REC SPEED button twice on the remote con-
trol. Use K/L buttons to change the recording speed.
• Refer to page 58 for instructions on timer recording.

Press VCR RECORD button to begin the recording.
To temporarily stop recording, press PAUSE F button.
Press VCR RECORD button to resume the recording.
When 5 minutes have passed since the unit entered
Pause mode, the recording will automatically stop.

Press STOP C (VCR) button when the recording
is completed.
NOTE Accidental erasure prevention
To prevent accidental recording
on a recorded cassette, remove
its record tab. To record on it
later, cover the hole with cello-
phane tape.
