Each time the device is installed onto the

rope, verify that it jams.

Use the CROLL

and another

hand rope

clamp (e.g.

ASCENSION

handled rope

clamp) with

a foot-loop.

Always attach

yourself to

the second

ascender with

an appropriate

lanyard.

Angled traverse

situation

When on an angled

traverse, guide the

horizontal part of the rope

so that it is as vertical as

possible to reduce the risk

of accidentally opening

the cam.

Short rope descent

Gently slide the device a short distance up the rope and

simultaneously push down on the cam with the index

fi nger. Do not manipulate the safety catch because this

creates a risk of involuntary opening of the cam.

EN 12841: 2006

The CROLL is a type B rope adjustment

device used to ascend the work rope.

WARNING, the CROLL must be used

with a type A backup device on a

second (safety) rope (e.g. a mobile fall

arrester for rope).

The CROLL is not suitable for use in a fall

arrest system.

To satisfy the requirements of

EN 12841: 2006 type B standard:

- Use 10-13 mm EN 1891 type A semi-static

kernmantel ropes. (Note: Certifi cation testing

was performed with a 100 kg mass using

BEAL Antipodes 10 mm and EDELWEISS

Rescue 13 mm ropes.)

- Use a connecting assembly of maximum

length 1 m (lanyard + connectors + devices).

To reduce the risk of a free fall, the rope

between the I’D and the anchor must always

be taut.

Do not load the safety line when the working

line is under tension.

Shock-loading can damage the anchor line.

Rescue plan

You must have a rescue plan and the means

to rapidly implement it in case of diffi culties

encountered while using this equipment.

Anchors

The anchor point for the system should

preferably be located above the user’s

position and should meet the requirements

of the EN 795 standard (minimum strength

of 10 kN).

- When using multiple pieces of equipment

together, a dangerous situation can result if

the safety function of one piece of equipment

is compromised by the operation of another

piece of equipment.

- WARNING DANGER, take care that your

products do not rub against abrasive or sharp

surfaces.

- Users must be medically fi t for activities

at height.

- The instructions for use for each item of

equipment used in conjunction with this

product must be respected.

- The instructions for use must be provided to

users of this equipment in the language of the

country in which the product is to be used.
