The Plot Symbol Density field allows for control of the frequency of plot symbols used to identify actual extracted
data values. A value of 0% results in no plot symbols being used. Only the data points will be displayed with a
straight line connecting adjacent data points. A value of 100% will result in every data point being displayed with a
plot symbol. A practical rule of thumb is to decrease the Plot Symbol Density as the number of data points
increases.

„

The Relative Plot Symbol Size input field determines the size of the plot symbols. A value of 0 results in an
invisible plot symbol while a value of 50 results in an oversized symbol.

„

Selecting the Scales button opens a window with inputs to determine the vertical scaling of all plotted data values.
Minimum and maximum values for each vertical axis can be controlled for best viewing of the data of interest.
Control of the horizontal axis minimum and maximum value is provided in order to zoom in on specific periods
of data.

„

The Background Color frame allows for customization of the plot background to best suit viewing preferences.

3.2.5 AUTOLOG DATA STORAGE

When AutoLog test profile data is extracted from the Level Scout, Data Scout Advanced will store the resulting data into a folder on
the local computer. Data Scout Advanced will always create a formatted ASCII text file containing the extracted data. The format of
the filename will be as follows:

Model-sn-Testx-yyyy-mm-dd_hh-mm-ss.atd

Model is the unit’s model number. Sn is the unit’s serial number, Testx identifies the Level Scout’s internal test profile (Test1-
Test16) and the date and time stamp represents the date and time that the data was extracted from the Level Scout. If the standard
Data Scout Advanced installation directory is used, the AutoLog data files will be located in the folder C:\YSI\DSAdv\dat.

Tip

Clicking the View Report button on the Display Options window will display the
ASCII text file for the AutoLog data currently displayed on the Run window.
