pump overtravel time 8.4.4.
The pump overtravel time is the vacuum pump delay time which is
between the end of the fueling process (closure of the proportional
valve) and the disconnection of the vacuum pump.
The overtravel of the pump extracts the gasoline vapor which is still
in the pipelines.
At a set value of 0s a defective pump is no longer activated.

During calibration the controller automatically measures the non-linear
valve flow - gas flow characteristic of the entire gasoline pump system,
saves the characteristic points and automatically linearizes this char-
acteristic by linear interpolation.
The extracted amount of gasoline vapor is controlled by the linearized
characteristic.
Following the calibration the gasoline vapor which is displaced when
a tank is filled is automatically extracted via the suction line on the
gasoline pump nozzle.
