Basic Startup Procedures

Upon installation, you are provided with sample data. Use ISRP with the
sample database to become familiar with the application. For basic usage
information, see

“Using the Application” on page 11

.

After you have registered your product, and are ready to use ISRP to track
and manage your daily warehouse activities, PURGE the sample data from
the system via the Purge form. For more information about purging your
data, please refer to

Purging Data, on page 17

.

Next, we encourage you to set system information at the System Options
form. This includes entering company information, enabling system fea-
tures and options included with your system, setting receiving and picking
order parameters as well as specifying your portable data terminal type,
enabling and setting security, adding system users, specifying the bar code
program, and choosing system language and date formats. For more infor-
mation about setting system information and options, please refer to

Sys-

tem Options, on page 27

.

Note: Important: Be aware that the features (i.e., multiple sites, lots, expi-
ration date and FIFO picking, multiple units of measure, and serial num-
bers) and options (i.e., history logging, item picture, and auto deleting of
locations with zero inventory) you intend to use with your system need to
be activated.

Finally, enter your startup data and create your physical inventory. This
includes three basic steps:

1.

Entering lookup information such as carriers, shipping methods, units
of measure, item categories, and sites into the system via the lookup
tables. For more information about entering lookup information, please
refer to

Lookups, on page 51

.

2.

After you have entered your sites and enabled multiple site settings,
define the default site and set site privileges. For more information
about setting site privileges, please refer to

“Setting Site Privileges” on

page 62

.

3.

Then, create locations for your sites and items for your inventory; thus
enabling you to create your physical inventory. For more information
about creating locations for your sites, please refer to

“Creating Loca-

tions for Each Site” on page 84

. For more information about creating

items for your inventory, please refer to
