3.0 Set Up Mode/ Change Monitor Settings

Most of the function positions have settings that may be changed at the console. These
include various configuration details, alarm trip points, and some convenient options such as
whether imperial or metric units should be used for numeric display.

3.1 Common Operations for Change Settings Mode

The next two subsections explain the procedure for entering and exiting any of the Change
Settings modes. After that, the meaning of the settings for each function are explained.

Saved settings are retained even after power has been removed from the monitor.

When the operator is in any of the change settings modes, the monitor will not generate normal
monitor alarms (low shaft speed and so on).

3.1.1 Entering Any Change Settings Mode

The following procedure is used for entering the Change Settings mode under any function that
has changeable settings:

1. Select the function whose associated settings are to be viewed or changed by using the

UP and DOWN buttons.

2. Hold down the MODE button until after the long beep following four short beeps.

This starts the Change Settings mode. Display line 1 will show a description of what the
setting is. Display line 2 will indicate the present numeric value of the setting. An appropriate
unit is also indicated.

Now, each press of the MODE button will advance the display to the next item to be set for that
function, cycling back to the first one after reaching the end. The last display in the cycle is the
SAVE prompt, which allows the user to decide whether settings should be saved into non-
volatile memory (settings are safe during power down).
