Description

Component

Displays either the management community or username. The management community
is used to send SNMP data to the SNMPv1/v2 management stations. The manager
community is used by SNMPv1/v2 management stations to filter SNMP traps and is not
related to the agent community name. The Manager Community name cannot exceed
64 characters. The username is used to send SNMP data to SNMPv3 management sta-
tions. The username is used to create a key that is shared by the agent and the NMS.

Click Delete to remove a selected NMS from the SKM.

Delete

Click Properties to view the extended properties of an NMS. From the properties page,
you can edit any of the values associated with the NMS.

SNMP Management Station Properties

The SNMP Management Station Properties page allows you to view and modify the extended properties
of an NMS defined on the SKM.

Description

Component

The SNMP version used on the NMS. All three versions of SNMP are supported on the
SKM.

Manager Type

Specifies whether this NMS is configured to receive Trap of Information messages.

NOTE:

We recommend that you always use Inform messages.

Trap Type

The hostname or IP address of the NMS.

Hostname or IP

Port on which the NMS is listening for SNMP traffic. The default is 162.

Port

Name that is used to send SNMP data to the SNMPv1/v2 management stations. The
manager community is used by SNMPv1/v2 management stations to filter SNMP traps
and is not related to the agent community name. The Manager Community name cannot
exceed 64 characters.
