Syslog Settings

To enable syslog, select a type of log, and click Edit. Specify a hostname or IP address of the primary
log server (Syslog Server #1) and the port that the syslog server is listening on. You can optionally
specify a backup syslog server by entering an IP address and port for the Syslog Server #2 IP and
Syslog Server #2 Port fields. Click Save when you are done.

NOTE:

Changes to the Syslog Settings section cause the KMS Server to restart, which takes the KMS offline
for a few seconds.

The following table describes the components of the Syslog Settings section.

Description

Component

You can enable syslog for the all SKM logs.

Log Name

If there is a check mark in the box, syslog is enabled. If there is no check mark in the
box, syslog is disabled.

Enable Syslog

Specify a syslog server that should receive event notification messages. You can specify
a hostname or an IP address.

Syslog Server IP

Specify the port the syslog server is listening on. The default is 514.

Syslog Server Port

The default is local1. You can choose from local0 to local7.

Syslog Facility

Click Edit to modify the Syslog settings.
