Recommended action

Door open

The print cartridge door is open.

Close the print cartridge door.

Jam in cartridge area

The product has detected a paper jam in the
print cartridge area.

Clear the jam from the area indicated in the
message, and then follow the control panel
instructions.

Magenta cartridge is low

The print cartridge is nearing the estimated
end of its useful life.

Printing can continue, but consider having a
replacement supply on hand.

Magenta cartridge is very low

The print cartridge is at the estimated end of
its useful life.

To ensure optimal print quality, HP
recommends replacing the print cartridge at
this point. You can continue printing until
you notice a decrease in print quality. Actual
cartridge life may vary.

Once an HP supply has reached “very low”,
HP's premium Protection Warranty on that
supply has ended. All print defects or
cartridge failures incurred when an HP
supply is used in continue at very low mode
will not be considered to be defects in
materials or workmanship in the supply
under the HP Print Cartridge Warranty
Statement.

Replace <Color> Cartridge

The indicated print cartridge is at the
estimated end of its useful life. The product
is customer-configured to stop when the
print cartridge level is very low.

Replace the print cartridge, or reconfigure
the product to continue printing after the
print cartridge reaches the “very low” level.

Replace <Color>. Printing Black.

The indicated print cartridge is at the
estimated end of its useful life. The product
is customer-configured to print with the
black cartridge only, until the very low print
cartridge is replaced.
