Recommended action

Replace Supplies. Printing Black.

One or more of the print cartridges is at the
estimated end of its useful life. The product
is customer-configured to print with the
black cartridge only, until the very low print
cartridges are replaced.

To ensure optimal print quality, HP
recommends replacing the print cartridge at
this point. You can continue printing until
you notice a decrease in print quality. Actual
cartridge life may vary.

Once an HP supply has reached “very low”,
HP's premium Protection Warranty on that
supply has ended. All print defects or
cartridge failures incurred when an HP
supply is used in continue at very low mode
will not be considered to be defects in
materials or workmanship in the supply
under the HP Print Cartridge Warranty
Statement.

Supplies are low

One or more of the print cartridges, or a
combination of print cartridge(s) and the
imaging drum, are nearing the estimated
end of their useful life.

Printing can continue, but consider having a
replacement supply on hand.

Supplies are very low

One or more of the print cartridges, or a
combination of print cartridge(s) and the
imaging drum, have reached the estimated
end of their useful life.

To ensure optimal print quality, HP
recommends replacing the print cartridge or
imaging drum at this point. You can
continue printing until you notice a decrease
in print quality. Actual cartridge life may
vary.

Replacement imaging drums have a one-
year limited warranty from the date of
installation. The imaging drum installation
date displays on the supplies status page.

Supplies in wrong positions

The print cartridges are installed in the
incorrect slots.

Make sure that each print cartridge is
installed in the correct slot.

Used <color> cartridge is installed

A used supply has been installed. The print
cartridge is most likely a refilled cartridge.

If product failure or damage is attributable to
the use of a non-HP print cartridge or
refilled print cartridge, HP will charge its
standard time and materials charges to
service the product for the particular failure
