Replacing the RAID card

Attention: Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding “Safety information”
on page iii
and “Guidelines” on page 71.

This topic provides instructions on how to replace the RAID card. If you are installing or removing any other
types of supported PCI Express cards, the procedure is similar.

Your server comes with a RAID card to provide advanced hardware RAID functions. For more information,
see “RAID card” on page 34 and “Configuring RAID” on page 66.

Attention: Ensure that you back up your data before replacing the RAID card because you might need to
reconfigure RAID and reinstall the operating system after replacing the RAID card.
