4. Press the [UTILITY] button to show the MIDI PGM CHANGE display shown below.
■ 5. Press the [ 1 or [ ► ] button to select the PGM or MEM parameter, and set desired values
for the parameters using the [ T ] or [ A ] button.
PGM means MIDI program change number, and ranges from 1 to 128.
MEM means FX550 program number, and ranges from 1 to 99 or 00.
Tempo Control
• Operation Procedure
1. Connect the MIDI output of the device that is sending the MIDI Program Change messages
to the FX550’s MIDI IN connector.
2. Transmit a MIDI Program Change message to the FX550.
3. Effect programs are selected in accordance with the currently selected bank settings.
^ For future reference, note down each bank’s MEM to PGM assignments in the “MIDI pro­
gram change list” on page 48.
The TEMPO parameter for the TMD and TDL effects can be set using MIDI clock, which is
output by MIDI sequencers such as the Yamaha QYIO and MIDI drum machines.
• Set Up Procedure
1. Press the [ T ] or [ A ] button to select the program to be controlled.
2. Press the [EDIT] button to show the TRIGGER ASSIGN display.
3. Press the [ ▼ ] or [ A ] button to select the effeet section to be controlled.
4. Use the effect [SECTION] buttons to select the effect section to be controlled.
5. Use the effect [SECTION] button to select the TRG parameter for the MOD or REV effect.
6. Press the [ -^ ] or [ ► ] button to position the cursor, and set the TRG parameter to “MIDI”.
7. Store the settings and switch to Play mode.
• Operation Procedure
1. Connect the MIDI output of the device that is sending the MIDI clock to the FX550’s MIDI
IN connector.
2. Transmit MIDI clock to the FX550, i.e., play the sequencer or drum machine.
It will take the FX550 about an eighth of a measure to set the TEMPO parameter once the
MIDI clock is received.
