Allocating Virtual Memory

KX-P6100 software requires 12.5 MB of total memory, divided between your PC memory {a minimum of 4 MB) and

your Windows virtual memory. If your system has 4 MB of PC RAM, then you must allocate at least 8.5 MB of virtual

memory. If you have 5 MB of RAM, then you need at least 7.5 MB of virtual memory, and so on.

To change the virtual memory, follow the instructions below. For more information on virtual memory, refer to the

Optimizing Windows section in the Microsoft Windows 3.1 User’s Guide.

The following instructions assume your system has 4 MB of PC RAM.

Double click the Main icon from the Program
Manager screen.

Increase the New size in the New Settings
box to at least 8,500 KB.

2 Double click the Control Panel icon.

Double click the 386 Enhanced icon.

Virtual Memory dialog box will be displayed.

'Y Select the Type “Permanent” in the New

Settings box.

Installing the KX-P6100 Software

To install the KX-P6100 software onto your hard disk, follow the instructions below.

^ At the DOS prompt, type WIN and press

(Enter ] to start Windows in the 386

Enhanced Mode.

On some PCs, you need to type WIN/3 at the

DOS prompt to set 386 Enhanced Mode.

Click the mouse or press any key to con­

tinue.

wish to use, then click Connect

From the Program Manager menu, click File.

Then click the Run... option.

g Insert the KX-P6100 software disk #1 into

disk drive A.

A At the prompt, type A:\SETUP.EXE and click

y If you wish to install the KX-P6100 software

on default drive (C) and directory (KXP6100),

If you wish to install the KX-P6100 software on

another drive and/or directory, type the letter
of the drive and/or directory name. Then click
