The voltage level of the power source must not vary

more than ±10% from the voltage level marked on the
nameplate (located on the rear of the printer).

• Do not use an extension cord.

• This printer should be connected to a grounded outlet.

• Do not use a line conditioner, transient suppressor or

surge protector as it may cause a machine error.

System Requirements

To run the KX-P6100 Software, you need the following hardware and software.

Hardware requirements;

• IBM compatible PC with at least a 386SX 16MHz*

CPU that can run in Windows Enhanced Mode

• At least 4 MB PC memory (RAM)

• More than 4 MB hard disk space

• PC with a standard parallel printer port (bi-directional)

• Some older 386s cannot run in Windows Enhanced

Mode. If you have Windows installed on your PC, you
can verify whether it runs in Enhanced Mode by typing
WIN /3 at the MS-DOS prompt.

Software requirements:
• Windows 3.1 or later

• MS-DOS 3.3 or later

• Permanent virtual memory up to approximately 8.5

MB ( A l l o c a t i n g Virtual Memory on Page 14)

should add up to at least 12.5 MB]

Unpacking

After unpacking the printer, make sure none of the items shown below are missing or damaged. Report damage or
shortages to the store from which the unit was purchased. Inside the front cover of this manual is an area for recording

important information such as the serial number, date of purchase and your dealer name.

Note:

• It is recommeded that you save the original carton and packing materials for proper shipping and transporting

of the printer. They have been specifically designed to protect your printer during shipment.
