Channel activation buttons
are found below the output
Level switches. Here, channels
1, 3, and 4 are on and will
output those slots from the
network.
To activate a 6416o analog output within a given A‑Net Slot range, press its
numbered
a
CtivE
button. (Note that the word “Active” does not appear on
the front panel user interface.) The channel’s yellow LED will light. Remember
that these switches act as on/off switches on the 6416o. If no audio is available
on that Slot within the network, the LED will still light, but no audio will be
heard.
Channel Activation Rules
It is not necessary to press the
E
ntEr
button to activate or deactivate a
channel.
Each Pro64 module remembers a unique set of active channels for Auto and
Manual Modes. For example, a module could have channels 1‑8 active for an
Auto Mode application and channels 5‑6 and 12‑16 active for a Manual Mode
application. Changing network modes will restore the active channel status
for each connected module.
Changing the A‑Net Slot range will clear the currently active channels on the
6416o Output Module.
Level Meter LEDs
Each audio channel on the 6416o Output Module has its own set of level
LEDs—green, yellow, and red. Green indicates signal present; it turns on
when a signal level of ‑40dB or higher is present. The yellow LED lights when
the signal level reaches ‑10dB. Clipping is indicated with the red LED, which
lights when the level reaches 0dB.
The level meter LEDs on the 6416o will always show the level of the incoming
network audio signal, even when the channel is not active on the front panel.
Remember, the front panel activation switches on the 6416o are merely mute
switches and do not affect the composition of the Pro64 network.
