Clock Sources

When a 6416dio is used as the network’s Clock Master, three clock sources

are available:

The Pro64 network internal clock

Word Clock from an external source

The digital clock embedded in AES3

channels 1/2

The 6416dio is the network’s Clock Master, receiving Word Clock from an

external source.

Selecting an External Clock Source

To set the 6416dio to use an external clock source, it must first be set to be

the network Clock Master, as detailed in the previous steps. When connecting

external clocks to the Pro64 network, ensure that the sample rates for the

external clock source and the Pro64 network match.

Word Clock

To use an external Word Clock as the clock source for the Pro64 network,

use the selector button below the Clock Source LEDs to choose Word Clock.

To confirm the new clock source, press the

button. To exit without

changing the clock, press

C

ote

: Do not connect video blackburst or enhanced clock sources that

run at multiples of the sample rate (i.e. “superclock”) to the Pro64

Word Clock inputs. These signals are not compatible with Pro64

clock inputs.
