Changing the A‑Net Slot range will clear the currently active channels on

an input module automatically to protect against channel/Slot conflicts or

unintentional overwriting.

AES Data Valid LEDs

The AES Data Valid LEDs are found between each pair of input and output

channels. (AES3 format data is transmitted in pairs of channels at all times.)

The AES Data Valid LED indicates the presence of a valid AES3 signal at that

input connector, regardless of the content contained within the audio stream

or the network activation status of the channel.

Signal Present LEDs

Each digital input and output channel on the 6416dio module has a single‑

LED level meter, labeled Signal. It turns on when that channel of the AES3

stream contains audio data at a level of ‑40dB or higher. For inputs, this LED

indicates that valid audio data is flowing into the 6416dio on that channel of

the AES3 stream. (For this level meter to work, the AES Data Valid LED must

be lit.)

For output channels, the Signal LED indicates that the network Slot has valid

digital data available and that this data can be output via the rear‑panel

connectors to another AES3 digital device.

Stereo Link Button

Adjacent pairs of channels on the 6416dio can be linked together as a stereo

pair. The channels must be an odd‑even pair, such as 1‑2, 7‑8, etc. There is

one Link button for each channel pair, four in all. The Bank Select buttons are

used to access eight input or output channels at a time.

Only stereo link information generated by the Pro64 network is transmitted

via A‑Net. The 6416dio (and the Pro64 A‑Net network) has no facility for

relaying other types of stereo information present in the AES3 data stream

coming from third‑party devices.

To link a pair of channels, both channels must be active on the network; the

Active button must be lit on both channels. Once the two channels are active,

pressing the Link button will stereo link the two channels immediately; no

confirmation is required.

Attempting to link channels that do not meet the requirements above will

cause the Link button and one or more channel button LEDs to flash to

indicate the error.
