7 .4 How to lift off the top cover
Safely switch off the instrument (see section 6.6 ff.) and cut off the external power supply according
to the type of installation. Clean the housing i.e. remove any dust between the upper and lower cover.
This can easily be done with compressed air if available. To get access to the light source and the
interferometer for example, it is necessary to remove the top cover of the NIRMaster. Lift the four black
dust flaps a (two at each side of the instrument) to get access to the latches.

• Turn the housing-key and bring the latches into horizontal position to unlock the housing .
➥ Carefully lift off the top cover.
• Unplug the internal power cable.
• To reinstall the cover, re-plug the internal power calbe and carefully place the top cover onto the
instrument.
• Turn the housing-key and bring the latches into vertical position to lock the housing .
