3.4.2 WAN Interface

“WAN Interface Setup” allows users to select the WAN connection type and configure the
parameters pertaining to the WAN interface. The four different access types supported on this
router are: Static IP, DHCP Client, PPPoE and PPTP.

Static IP

This is the connection type used when users have a fixed IP address from their ISP. In this case
the IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary and Secondary DNS Server IPs should
be acquired from the ISP.

WAN Access Type: Static IP is the connection type selected.

IP Address: This is the fixed IP address received from ISP.

Subnet Mask: Subnet mask provided by ISP.

Default Gateway: Default gateway provided by ISP.

MTU Size: Fill in the MTU size of MTU Size. The default value is 1400.

DNS1: Primary DNS provided by your ISP.

DNS2: Secondary DNS if necessary.

DNS3: This Tertiary DNS if necessary.

Clone MAC Address: Some ISPs use the MAC address of a network card for
authentication, users may use “Clone MAC Address to” duplicate the MAC
address to the MAC address in the WAN port.

Enable UPnP: It allows enabling or disabling uPNP feature. If enabled, all client
systems that support uPNP, like Windows XP, can discover this router
automatically and access the Internet through this router without any
configuration.

Enable Ping Access on WAN: Click the checkbox to enable WAN ICMP
