Tone Period is the duration of one tone in a SELCALL iD sequence. The setting of this

parameter depends on the appiication. On iong distance communications, where the

signai strength of the transmitted information is greatiy reduced and affected by noise,

it is advisabie to use a ionger tone period. A iong tone period gives the decoder more

time and information to check and evaiuate the code,

important Note: Ensure aii radios in your group use the same tone period setting,

otherwise, you wiii not be abie to seiectiveiy caii one another.

To change the Tone Period setting.

From the main menu, using the

a

or ▼ key, go to the Tone Period Programming Menu,

(if you have never changed the Tone Period, the defauit setting is 40 mSec)

Tone Period Programming

Press the MEM key to start programming. The Tone Period on dispiay wii! fiash. This
indicates that you can now change the setting.

You can seiect either, 40, 70, 100
or 20 mSec.

When compieted, press the MEM to store
