In the “Troubleshoot” screen select the “Advanced Options” item.

Next on the “Advanced Options” screen, select “Startup Settings.” On the next screen, activate the “Restart”
button.

The Windows operating system will then reboot and will display the “Startup Settings” screen. Press the “F7”
key to select “Disable driver signature enforcement.” Windows will then complete the startup process.

After Windows has finished starting up, activate the Charms menu and select “Search” with the settings
selected.

In the settings search box enter “Device Manager.” The results of the search will be displayed in the left side of
the screen, choose “Device Manager.”

The next series of instructions are the same for Windows XP; continue with the steps in the next paragraph.

JSD-60 USB Windows XP/8 Driver Installation
For Windows XP and 7, launch the Device Manager.

Update the JSD-60 USB Driver:

Connect the USB cable to the JSD-60 with it powered up and then connect to the Windows computer.

Using Device Manager the driver will show up in the tree as “Others.” Expand the others node and the JSD-60
Cinema Processor device will be displayed. Select the JSD-60 Cinema Processor and right click the mouse to
activate a popup menu.

From the pop-up menu select “Properties” and activate the “Update Driver Software” button.

A new dialog (window) will be displayed. Select “Browse my computer for driver software.” In the next dialog,
use the browse button to navigate to: “C:\Program Files (x86)\USL\JSD60\WinUSB_Driver.”

Activate the OK button, and the path just browsed will appear in the textbox. Check the include subfolders box
and then activate the next button.

In the Windows Security message box, select the “Install this driver software anyway” option.

The driver installation process commences. When completed “libusb (WinUSB) devices” will appear in the
tree in the device manager. An instance of the “USL JSD-60 Cinema Processor” will be available. If not verify
that the JSD-60 is connected and operating.

8.3

Set IP Utility

The Set IP utility allows the user to configure the network and host name settings on the JSD-60. To run the utility
use the “Start”, “All Programs” menu to select “USL”, “JSD-60 Cinema Processor”, and “JSD60SetIP.”

Connect the host computer to the USB port on the
front of the JSD-60. The JSD-60 should appear under
the USB Device List. It is identified by which USB port
it is connected to on the host computer. Click the
JSD-60 on the found list.

Fill in the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway as
dotted decimal values. Press “Set IP” to save the
values in the JSD-60.

Fill in the network hostname for the JSD-60. The
hostname can be up to 15 characters long and
cannot contain spaces. The hostname will be
converted to upper case before being saved. Press
“Set Name” to save the value to the JSD-60.


8.4

JSD-60 Configuration

When the GUI application is started, the “Overview Screen” will be visible. This screen can show the status of
multiple JSD-60 systems on a network. The title bar shows the theater name and the screen number for the
particular JSD-60 being shown. Click “Screen 1”to bring up the details of the first (and only, at this point) JSD-60.
