8.3.3 Searching on a transponder

You can search a specific transponder (see Point 10:
Technical Terms) for available programmes. To do this, you
will have to enter the appropriate transponder data

(Fig. 8-

12)

Satellite
In this line you must select the satellite on which the desired
transponder is located.
>

Use the

arrow keys up/down to select the line

Satellite.

>

Press

OK to display a table listing the active satelli-

tes.

>

Now use the

arrow keys up/down to mark the

appropriate satellite.

>

Confirm by pressing

OK.

The satellite selected will now be displayed in the line
Satellite.

Transponder frequency
>

Use the

arrow keys up/down to select the line

Transponder frequency.

>

Enter the appropriate frequency by means of the
numeric keys.

Symbol rate
The symbol rate indicates the volume of data transmitted per
second. A typical figure might be 27500 (27500 symbols per
second).
>

Use the

arrow keys up/down to mark the line

Symbol rate.

>

Use the

numeric keys to enter the desired symbol

rate.

Polarisation
>

Use the

arrow keys up/down to mark the line

Polarisation.

>

Use the

OK key in this line to enter the polarisation

plane (

horizontal or vertical) on which the desired

programme is broadcast.

Search mode
>

Use the

arrow keys up/down to mark the line

Search mode.

>

Press the

OK key to decide whether you wish to

search only for free-to-air programmes (

Free

Programmes) or whether you wish to include
encrypted programmes in the search (

All

Programmes).

>

Press the

red function key to confirm Start

Search.
The search will commence. Please note any messa-
ges displayed on screen.
