Changing a Symbol's Style

To change the style of a symbol:

1. Do one of the following:

• To change the style of one symbol, click the symbol and on the Options menu, click Symbol Style

from the main menu.

• To change the style of all symbols in the same layer, choose Map > Layer Control and click the

layer's Style Override swatch.

Using either method the Symbol Style dialog box displays.

This dialog box includes a Preview button when launched from the Layer Control.

2. Complete your selections and entries in this dialog box and click OK.

Font - Choose a font from the drop-down list. In addition to the symbol sets, the list displays any

fonts installed on Windows. The Custom Symbols category lists those bitmaps you have created
and saved to the CUSTSYMB directory.

Size - Choose a size or type a different point size. The maximum size is 240 points.

Symbol - Choose a symbol type from the symbol palette.

Color - Choose a color from this list for the symbol.

Reload - Click this button when you have added your own custom symbols to update the list. If

you restarted MapInfo Professional since adding the new custom symbols you do not need to
select the Reload button.

Full View - Click this button to display large images in a separate window.

Rotation Angle - Specify number of degrees the symbol should be rotated; 0-360.

Background - In this box, you can specify a background. Select one of these:
