Printing and Exporting Your Results

This section covers the printing and exporting options in MapInfo Professional.

Printing Your Project

When you need to create presentation materials, you can print out the MapInfo Professional layouts you
have created.

Page Setup

First check that your page setup is what you want. Any changes to the page setup will likely affect the
layout, so it is a good idea to view the effect of the changes on your layout before printing. On the File
menu, point to Page Setup. Here, you can specify the page orientation (portrait or landscape) and
margins. You can also specify the paper size and its source.

In addition, you can override your default printer setting and choose a different printer for this print job.
Click the Printer button to open the Page Setup dialog box for your printer. The printer that initially
displays is the default printer that you set in the Printer preferences (on the Options menu, point to
Preferences and click Printer). This will either be the Windows default printer, or the MapInfo Professional
preferred printer that you selected. Make any changes you want to the printer and its properties, and
click OK. The settings available in the Printer Properties dialog box will vary according to the printer
you are using.

Printing Options

Changes you make to these settings override the default settings from the Output Preferences.

When you are ready to print:

1. Make sure the layout window is active. On the File menu, point to Print to open the Print dialog

box.

2. Choose the number of copies you want to print and whether you want all pages or a specific range

of pages to print. As in the Page Setup dialog box, the Print dialog box also allows you to override
the default printer settings.
