Call Request Timer

The value in this field is the amount of time, in seconds, the unit waits after sending
a call request before sending a clear request. The selections are 1 to 255, 15.

Reset Request Timer

The value in this field is the amount of time, in seconds, the unit waits after
sending a reset request before declaring a channel failure. The selections are 1to
255, 15.

Recovery Counter

This counter indicates the maximum number of times a reset and clear procedure is
attempted before a failure is detected. The selections are 1 to 255, 3.

Postpone Timer

The postpone timer is the maximum amount of time a unit waits to send a RR (receiver
ready) packet. If a data packet becomes ready for transmission before the timer expires,
the RR is piggybacked with the data packet. The selections are 0 to 512, 1.

VC Modulo

The value in this field determines the numbering scheme for packets at Layer 3. A
value of 8 causes a numbering sequence of 0 to 7 while a value of 128 causes a
sequence of 0 to 127. The units on each end of the link must be set for the same
modulo. The selections are 8 and 128.

VC Window

The window parameter specifies the maximum number of unacknowledged packets
possible for any individual Layer 3 connection. The selections are 1 to 7 if the VC
Modulo is 8 and 1 to 127, 7, if the VC Modulo is 128.

Number of VC

The Number of VC represents the total number of virtual circuits that are needed
on this port. The selections are 0 to 512, 64.

Clear Request Timer

The value in this field is the amount of time, in seconds, the unit waits after
sending a clear request before declaring a channel failure. The selections are 1 to
255, 15.

Data ACK Timeout

This timer specifies the amount of time a unit waits to receive an acknowledgment
to a transmitted message. If the timer expires before a response is received, the
channel is reset and the message is re-transmitted. The timer is required since a
frame relay network can throw away frames without notifying the sender of their
elimination. The selections are 0 to 512, 60.
