Step3

Check the temperature of the switch. The S3100V2-TP-PWR-EI Switch Series provides the overtemperature

protection mechanism. When the internal temperature of the switch exceeds 65°C (149°F), the switch

performs self protection and disables PoE on all ports. When the internal temperature drops below 60°C
(140°F), the switch enables PoE on all ports.

Step4

If the failure still exists, contact the local agents or technical support engineers.

Troubleshooting software loading

If software loading fails, the system prompts software loading errors, and runs in the previous version.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot software loading:

Step1

Check the cable connection of the interface. If the cable of the interface is not well connected, re-connect
the cable to the interface, and make sure that the physical connection is correct. Then, perform software

loading again.

Step2

Check for errors in the software loading process displayed on the HyperTerminal. If errors exist, correct

them, and perform software loading again. The following errors may occur:

Selecting a baudrate other than 9600 bps when you use XMODEM for software loading, but not
changing the baudrate for the HyperTerminal.

Inputting an incorrect server/switch IP address or incorrect software package name, or specifying
an incorrect path for the TFTP server when you use the TFTP protocol for software loading.

Inputting an incorrect server/switch IP address or incorrect software package name, or inputting an
incorrect username/password when you use the FTP protocol for software loading.

Step3

If the failure still exists, contact the local agents or technical support engineers.
