Do not carry out any modifications or repairs to the unit yourself. Only have the equipment or
the mains cable repaired by a specialist service centre. Unsatisfactory repairs can pose
considerable risk to the user.

12 Servicing

12.1 Maintenance

The device is maintenance-free. Check the condition of the batteries from time to time and
replace them with equivalent new rechargeable batteries if their performance is beginning to
wane or they are beginning to leak.

Warning

Risk of burns!
Wear protective gloves when removing leaking batteries.

If the unit has come into contact with liquids, remove the batteries immediately and
disconnect the unit from the power supply (base unit) and dry it carefully. Check its operation
after 2-3 days. Send it into the service centre if it is defective.

12.2 Cleaning

Warning

Risk of electrocution or short circuit from contact with
electrically conductive components!
Do not allow liquids to get into the equipment. Should this happen,
immediately pull the power supply plug from the socket and
the telephone cable plug from the socket in the wall or remove
the batteries.
Similarly on damage to the unit, the cable or to the power supply unit:
Avoid direct contact with liquids and disconnect the unit from the 230V
mains immediately.

Clean the telephone with a cloth moistened with lukewarm water or an antistatic cloth.
Never use cleaning agents or abrasive solvents.

No connection despite good
tone quality.

The dialling mode is wrong.

Check the dialling mode



(see “7.4 Setting the dialling
mode”).

Not possible to forward calls
in a private exchange.

The flash time is too short.

Adjust the telephone to a
long flash time (see “7.2 The
recall key (R)”).

Telephone does not react
when a key is pressed.

Program error.

Remove the batteries, wait
1 minute and reinsert them.

"Incorrect PIN" in the display. An incorrect PIN has

been entered.

Check PIN.

Two warning beeps from the
base unit when it is plugged
into the 230V mains.

The maximum number of
handsets has already been
registered. No more
handsets can be registered.
