UNIX

The minimum system requirements to run on a UNIX platform are as follows:

Sun SPARC station

SunOS 4.1.1 or later

Motif 1.2 or greater

OpenView X.X or later

HiView Tips

Windows 95/NT 4.0

HiView can only manage one switch at a time.

The default password for login is blank. Click on “OK” to initially launch the
application. However, a password can be set at a later time.

All fields for “Network Device Dialog Box” must be filled before launching
the application.

When the HiView application has been launched for the first time, the color
on all Ethernet ports is black. To distinguish between different VLANs, you
must assign different colors to the VLANs.

To upgrade the firmware on the switch using HiView, a third party TFTP
server process must be running.

HiView Tips

UNIX

HiView can only manage one switch at a time.

A login and password is not required for the Unix version of HiView.

In the “Network Device Dialog Box”, only an IP address is required. The
read/write community strings are defaulted to public/private.

Note:

The HiSpeed switch must be running firmware version 1.3.9 or

above.
