If your ATM configuration is corrupt, delete your ATM file from the CLI (rm
atm.cur),
reset the switch, and re-configure ATM.

Signaling changes may require you to reboot the switch.

Troubleshooting LANE

Problem:

I’ve created a LEC service but still cannot connect to the ATM
network

.

Solution:

Use the following solutions:



Verify the LEC has been created, admin status is enabled, and
protocol state is ‘active’. Use the following command:

/ATM/SHOW/lec <lec id>

/ATM/CONFIG/ENABLE/lec <lec id>



Ensure that you are using a valid LEC id. Valid LEC values ranges
from 0 through 31

/ATM/CONFIG/CREATE/lec <lec id>



Ensure the ATM port is configured for SVC mode and ILMI is
enabled. By default, the ATM port is set to ‘PVC’ mode and ILMI
disabled.

/ATM/CONFIG/MODIFY> port

Problem:

The LEC connection is up and active but I cannot ping across the
ATM network.

Solution:

Use the following solutions:



Verify that all IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways are set correctly
on the VLANs and any attached devices.



Verify that the ATM port service has been bound to each VLAN.

/PORTSERV/CONFIG/create 34

vps 34



Verify all ATMLANE ports are in a ‘Forwarding’ state using vvp



Depending on Spanning Tree, this process may take up to 20 seconds.
