Dolphin® 7900 User’s Guide

IPSM—Short for Internal Persistent Storage Manager, this
is14MB of on-board Flash memory that is non-volatile. Because
this memory is non-volatile, data or programs stored in IPSM are
not affected when power is removed. Autoinstall programs, for
example, are stored in IPSM so that they are always installed at
cold-boot startup.

Storage Card—You can install one memory card in Dolphin
terminals (see

Access Door

on page

3-6)

. If a storage card is

installed in the terminal, you can select it in the drop-down list and
see capacity and usage statistics for the card.

Running Programs Tab

Displays the software programs currently using Storage memory.

Check this tab when you are receiving out of memory errors or when the mobile computer is running slowly. You can

Select a program in the list and tap Stop to stop it from running (and therefore from using memory), or

Tap Stop All to automatically stop all running programs.

Anytime you stop a running program, it frees up RAM memory. Be advised that, when you stop a program here, any unsaved
data in that program is lost. To free up memory without risking data loss, return to the running program, save your data, and close
the application.

Find Link

Underneath the three Memory tabs is a link to the Find window that enables you to search for
large files using storage memory.

Clicking this link opens the Search screen with Larger than 64KB already selected in the Type
field. Enter the search criteria in the Find field and tap Go to perform the search.
