DW4020 status
information via the
serial port

The DW4020 has no serviceable parts. However, you may be able
to debug units with help from the network operations center
(NOC). You access the menus below via the serial port, just as
when you set up the DW4020.

Verifying correct
DW4020 operation

You can verify that the DW4020 unit is receiving and processing
data by following the steps given below.

1. Enter A at the Main Menu to access

Satellite Interface

Statistics

.

2. At the Satellite Interface Stats submenu enter

A

to select

Display Main Statistics

. In the display that appears (see

Figure 85), check if frames are being accepted.

The

Frames Received

and

F-error

values indicate the

DW4020 is detecting frames and correctly receiving and
demodulating an outroute signal.
Note the

Signal Quality Factor

is also reported; if the SQF is

below 31, the antenna must be repointed.
The

Receive Status

and

Transmit Status

fields report whether

the receive and transmit modems are operational. If they are
not operational or available, antenna pointing is not possible.

The Rx and Tx codes have the same meanings as explained in the
LED flashing code tables above.

Signal Quality Factor: <83>

Frames Received: <181>

F-error: <0>

Addresses Open: <2>

Receive Status: <The receiver is operational. (RxCode 5)>

Transmit Status: <The transmitter is available. (TxCode 8)
