Unable to Make Correct Settings / Unable to Print Exactly as Set
Perform the troubleshooting procedures given below in that order when you cannot
make proper settings in the printer driver or when the print results do not represent
what has been set.
Symptom Possible Cause Action
Unable to select an
item in the printer
driver. Some functions cannot be
combined. Do not select items which are
dimmed or marked with
.
The "Conflict Setting
Validation" dialog box
is displayed on the
computer screen. An illegal combination of
functions has been made. Check for combination and
make a correct combination of
functions.
Unable to print exactly
as set. Incorrect settings are
made. Check the setting for each
item of the printer driver.
The watermark cannot
be printed. The watermark is not
correctly set. Check the watermark setting.
The "Darkness" setting of
the watermark is low. Check the "Darkness" setting
of the watermark.
Unable to specify
Staple. Staple can be specified
only when "Finisher" or
"Mailbin Finisher" is
selected for "Finisher" on
the "Device Option"
property sheet and
"Elevator Tray" is selected
for "Paper Output" on the
"Paper" property sheet. Select "Finisher" or "Mailbin
Finisher" for "Finisher" on the
"Device Option" property
sheet, and select "Elevator
Tray" for "Paper Output" on
the "Paper" property sheet.
No stapling can be effected
if the paper size is any but
Ledger, Legal, Letter, A4,
and A3, the paper source is
the manual feed port, any
exit port is selected but the
Elevator Tray, Booklet is
specified, OHP
Interleaving is specified, or
UnCollated is specified. Check the setting of the paper
size, paper source, exit port,
Booklet, OHP Interleaving,
and Collated.
