B. ADJUSTING THE INTERNAL CARD GUIDE

The printer is equipped with a spring-loaded Internal Card Guide which
automatically adjusts to the width of your card stock. Depending on the thickness
of your card stock, however, you may need to adjust the tension of the Internal
Card GuideÕs spring. This is a very simple adjustment and is done by moving the
card guideÕs Tension Lever to the appropriate position.
The default position of the Tension Lever is toward the front of the printer. This
provides higher spring tension which is necessary for printing onto standard card
sizes with a thickness of .030Ó/.75mm or higher. If using thinner cards, such as
those with a .010Ó/.25mm thickness, move the Tension Lever toward the rear of the
printer. This decreases the spring tension allowing the Internal Card Guide to
accommodate the less rigid nature of thinner cards.

NOTE:

It is important the tension of the Card Input Guide is set properly. If spring tension is
increased and you are using thinner cards, you may experience card jams. If spring tension
is decreased and you are using cards with a standard thickness, printed cards may appear
misregistered or blurry.

C. ADJUSTING THE CARD SEPARATOR FLAP

The Card Separator Flap resides inside the printer and helps prevent two cards
from feeding simultaneously. This flap is adjustable to accommodate varying card
thicknesses. Although the Card Separator Flap will automatically adjust to slight
card thickness variations, a manual adjustment should be made in order for the
printer to consistently feed cards which vary from the standard CR-80 .030Ó
(.75mm) card thickness. To adjust the Card Separator Flap, refer to the following
steps:

1.

Open the Card Hopper Door located on the right-hand side of the printer.

2.

Remove all but two cards from the Card Hopper.

3.

Open the Top Cover of the printer by pressing the Cover Release Button.

4.

Remove the ribbon from the printer.
