Fixed Data Field
A fixed data field contains information that remains constant.
The operator does not see a prompt for a fixed data field
during data entry, but the contents of the field prints
automatically when the batch is printed.
Note the following about fixed fields:
•
If you do not enter characters at the Enter any fixed
characters: prompt, your data will print incorrectly
during batch printing.
•
For time or date fields, the current time or date is used.
•
Price fields are not available as fixed fields.
To define a fixed data field, select F)ix as the field type (at the
field definition screen):
Field 01: P)rompt, F)ix, L)ine
M)erge, S)ub, G)raph or T)est_
When you see the prompt Enter any fixed characters: enter
the actual data.
