Additional information regarding VST/VSTi plug-in compatibility

A command line switch is needed to enable certain VST or VSTi plug-ins to work in the
Soundscape environment. Typically, launching the SSL Soundscape Mixer application without the
command line switch when such a plug-in is installed results in an “object initialization” error and
the program does not open. At present the only tested examples of this are Lounge Lizard and
Tassman from Applied Acoustics Systems but the same may occur with other plug-ins. The
command line switch solves the problem by initializing COM objects as
"APPARTMENT_THREADED" instead of "MULTI_THREADED".

To use the “-a” command switch, insert “-a” just after “sslMixer.exe” in the Target line of the SSL
Soundscape Mixer shortcut’s properties. In a standard installation the SSL Soundscape Mixer’s
shortcut is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.
Right-clicking the shortcut will open the Properties window. The edited line should read as
follows:

"C:\Program Files\Soundscape\sslMixer\sslMixer.exe" -a /h sslMixer.ini

“-a” command line switch
