Taking Pictures with Manual Exposure
Setting

This mode is particularly suitable for
locking the exposure of the background
when there are white and dark subjects.

Set the REC mode dial to manual
exposure [

].

• On the LCD monitor there is a

exposure assist

1 that shows the

exposure state.

Following the exposure assist
indication, press 2/1 to adjust the
shutter speed and press 3/4 to
adjust the aperture value.

Take a picture.

• The recording method is the same as

in “Taking Pictures (AUTO Mode)”.

• In manual exposure mode [

], the settings listed below are not available.

Slow sync./red-eye reduction [

] (P33) of the built-in flash

Exposure compensation (P43)
[AUTO] ISO sensitivity (P52)

• The available setting range of the aperture value is from F2.0 to F8.0.
• The available setting range of the shutter speed is from 8 to 1/1000.
• If the shutter speed is faster than 1/500, the aperture value is limited.
