3 Pre-observation/pre-operation
preparation and inspection
Be sure to finish the preparation and inspection work described in this chapter before using the
instrument. At the first sign of any abnormality, immediately stop using the instrument and perform
the required actions as described in "7 Troubleshooting" (P. 36).
Inspections are not only required before use, but should be conducted periodically.
CAUTION
• Make sure the instrument is turned off before performing pre-observation and pre-operation preparation
and inspection.
3.1 Pre-observation preparation
Preparing the power supply
„ Using the battery
Use your finger to pull the battery cover lock and open the cover.
Noting the orientation of the battery, insert it terminals first into the compartment and then press
down until you hear it click into place. After the battery is firmly in place, close the battery cover.
z Removing the battery
Insert the tip of your finger into the depression on the right side of
the battery and lift it up while pushing on the left side with your
finger to remove it.
Remove the instrument from its carrying case.
