Troubleshooting

WARNING

• Never use the instrument if there is any abnormality. Otherwise, the instrument may malfunction and the

user may also be injured fatally, critically or seriously.

Inspect the equipment as described in "3 Pre-observation/pre-operation preparation and
inspection" (P. 12), do not use the equipment if there are any obvious malfunctions. Contact
Olympus for repairs. Should even the slightest irregularity be suspected, do not use the instrument.
Perform the actions described in "7.1 Troubleshooting guide" (P. 36). If the problem cannot be
resolved by the described remedial action, stop using the instrument and send it to Olympus for
repair.

Troubleshooting guide

Error messages

Message

Cause and recommended action

NO RECORDING MEDIA.

An SD card is not loaded.

Load an SD card and try again.

RECORDING MEDIA FULL.

The SD card is full.

Delete unneeded data to free up space or replace with a new SD card.

THIS IMAGE CANNOT BE
RETRIEVED.

The image was not recorded with this instrument.

Only images recorded with this instrument can be displayed.

RECORDING MEDIA IS LOCKED.
PLEASE UNLOCK.

The SD card is locked.

Unlock the SD card you are using and then replace it.

RECORDING MEDIA ERROR.
PLEASE FORMAT THE RECORDING
MEDIA.

The format of the SD card cannot be recognized.

Format the SD card on the instrument.

IMAGER ERROR.
PLEASE TURN OFF THE POWER.

The self-check function activated and prompted termination of operation.

Stop inspection and turn the instrument off, then on again.

OPTICAL ADAPTER HAS BEEN
DETACHED.

The optical adapter has detached.

Temporarily pause inspection and reattach the optical adapter.

(See "3.2 Pre-operation preparation" (P. 13).)

OVER CURRENT (ADAPTER).
PLEASE TURN OFF THE POWER
AND CLEAN THE ELECTRODE.

An abnormality was detected in the distal end electrode.

Immediately withdraw the insertion tube from the observation object and

turn off power. Clean the distal end and optical adapter electrode ("6.3
Cleaning components" (P. 33)) and reattach the optical adapter
("Attaching the optical adapter" (P. 14)).
