7) While travelling, do not let the child
sit incorrectly or release the belts.

8) Never carry children on your lap, even
newborns. No one, however strong, can
hold a child in the event of an accident.

9) In the event of an accident, replace the
child seat with a new one.

Do not place a child seat
facing backwards on the

front seat if the passenger side airbag
is enabled. Deployment of the airbag
in an accident could cause fatal in-
juries to the baby regardless of the
severity of the collision. It is advisable
to always carry children in a child seat
on the rear seat, which is the most
protected position in the event of
a collision.

CHILD RESTRAINT
SYSTEM

(for versions/markets, where provided)

This car is preset for mounting the Uni-
versal Isofix child restraint system, a new
European standardised system for carry-
ing children safely.

Fig. 12 shows an example of child's re-
straint system.

The Universal Isofix child’s seat covers
weight group: 1.

Due to its different anchoring system, the
Universal Isofix child's seat shall be an-
chored to the proper lower metal rings
A-fig. 13, set between rear seat back and
cushion. The upper belt (provided with
the child's seat) shall be then secured to
ring B-fig. 14 set at the back of seat back
rest at child's seat level.

It is possible to mount at the same time
both the traditional restraint system and
the “Universal Isofix” one.

Remember that in case of “Universal
Isofix” child's seat, you can only use all
those seats approved with the marking
ECE R44/03 “Universal Isofix”.

The Universal Isofix “Duo Plus” child seat
and the special “Bimbo Fix” seat are avail-
able from Lineaccessori Fiat.

fer to the “Instructions Manual” that must
be provided by the child restraint system
Manufacturer.
