What is it applied to?
It can be applied to one, more or all output channels of a track of one or more
elements. The swap icon displayed in the timeline is
.
Where is it defined?
This is defined in the general timeline display: right-click (one of) the element(s)
of the audio track on which to apply the swap and select Add Swap/Mute:

from the nowline to the end of the track on a timeline element where the nowline
is placed.
•
from a mark IN point to mark OUT point on a timeline track.

This is defined in the Swap/Mute Zoom display of a track. Click the
icon for a
given track to access this mode for the track.
Then, right-click the track display where you want to define the swap and select
