CHECKING THE RUNNING DIRECTION:

1. Switch on the main switch (1) (fig. 11); i.e. to

position „1“.

2. Place rotary switch (2) (fig. 11) in position

„1“.

3. Check that the shredder is running in the correct

direction and correct the phase relation of the

power plug if necessary.

Correcting the phase relation of the

power plug may only be carried out

by a qualified electrician!

Now that everything has been correctly assembled

and connected, you can proceed to operating

the machine.

Make sure that no loops occur when

feeding strip material. Danger of

injury!

POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION:

a) The maximum value for loop impedance at the

mains connection point is 0.5 Ohms.

b) The conductor cross-section of the power

supply line should be of a magnitude so as

to cause a 15% voltage drop in the case of a

machine blockage (inhibit current = 3 x nominal

current).

APPLICATIONS:

The 14.87 shredder/baler combination is a large-

scale shredding system for the shredding and

baling of large volumes of paper.

The system shreds cardboard and crumpled

paper just as easily as it does flat paper.

The shredder may only be used for

shredding paper and cardboard!

The shredding of other data media may

result in bodily injury (e.g. due to splin-

tering of hard materials etc.), or damage

to the machine (e.g. destruction of the

cutting system etc.).

INITIAL START-UP

SHREDDER OPERATING ELEMENTS

3 = Display “Ready”

a) Lit if the main switch (1) is switched on.

b) Flashes if the circuit breaker has

interrupted the power circuit. For

further details, see section “CIRCUIT

BREAKER”.

4 = Display

“Baler not connected” / “Limit switch

lock disconnected” / “Flap open” /

“Jam outlet” / “Electrical fault” / “Bale

completed”

a) Lit if the connection plug of the baler is

not plugged into the socket (19) on the

shredder. At the same time, the display

(5) flashes.

b) Lit if the actuator of the limit switch lock

(20) is not inserted in the limit switch on

the baler (fig. 8).

c) Lit if the filler flap (24) or the ejector flap

(25) is not closed.

Note: the shredder cannot be started

while one of the flaps is open. The baling

ram in the baler can still be moved

forwards (ejection of the bale), and

backwards (reverse stroke) in jog mode

when the filler flap is closed.

d) Lit if the space inside the hopper (16)

is completely filled with cutting material

due to a jam in the filler hole of the baler

and the machine has been switched off

due to the raised cover flap (17). For

information, see section “JAM OUTLET”.

e) Lit although all flaps are closed if one

of the built-in switch contactors in the

shredder has failed. For more details,

see section “ELECTRICAL FAULT”.

f) Flashes if the volume of the bale is

reached and the bale has to be tied

off and ejected. For more details, see

section “TIE OFF” or “EJECT BALE”.

OPERATING FUNCTIONS (fig. 11):

1 = Main switch (emergency-stop)

This switch turns the machine either on

(position “1”) or off (position “0”).

2 = Rotary switch

a) “Cutting system forward” (“1”)

Turning this switch to position “1” starts

the cutting system and the conveyor belt.

Material can now be fed to the shredder.

b) “Cutting system reverse” (“R”)

Turning this switch to position “R” starts

the cutting system and the conveyor belt

in reverse.

c) “Cutting system stop” (“0”)

Turning this switch to position “0” switches

the shredder off, thereby halting the

cutting system and the conveyor belt.

5 = Display

“Paper jam” / “Baler not connected” /

“Ram not in home position” / “Motor

fault”

a) Lit if too much paper is fed into

the cutting system (see description

AUTOMATIC RESPONSE IN CASE OF

OVERLOADING).

b) Flashes if the connection plug of the

baler is not inserted in the socket (19)

on the shredder. At the same time, the

display (4) is lit.

c) Flashes if the baling ram (32) was not

in home position (rearmost position)

when the rotary switch (2) was turned to

position 1 (Cutting system forward) (3).

d) Flashes if the motor of the shredder or

of the baler has been overloaded and the

built-in thermal protection has interrupted

the power circuit. For more details, see

section “MOTOR FAULT”.
