Main Terminal

Wiring these telephone entry systems are the same as section 2.3.1 EXCEPT for the expansion board connection. From 9 to 16
boards can be wired. The FIRST 8 boards MUST connect from #7 thru #9 on the aux terminal. Boards 9 to 16 MUST connect
from #11 thru #13 on the aux terminal. All expansion boards MUST have their own power source. See the Expansion Board
Manual
2351-065 for further information BEFORE wiring expansion boards.

Connect expansion boards using 6 conductor,

stranded with overall shield. 18, 20, 22 or 24

gauge. Shield runs continuous. Float the

shield, DO NOT connect shield to 2351-010

board common.

Expansion Board Power: You may power up to four (4) expansion
boards from a single 16 VAC, 20 VA power transformer.
18 AWG wire up to 100 Ft.
16 AWG wire up to 200 Ft.
It is advisable to keep power wire runs as short as possible.

Connect card reader using 4

conductor, stranded with overall

shield. 18, 20, 22 or 24 gauge.

“2RY” Contact is set NO with Relay 2 Jumper on board.

Red - NO circuit board connection.
Battery Back-up power connection - optional.

Red - NO circuit board connection.

Relay 2 Jumper

The model 2351 Expansion Board allows you to expand the
number of remote entry points that the 1833, 1835, 1837
telephone entry systems can control up to 16. One expansion
board is required for EACH remote entry point. Two sets of 8
boards get wired to the entry systems circuit board.

1833, 1835 & 1837 Systems
with Up to 16 expansion
boards connected:

Control 1 entry point (Relay 0) with system circuit board.
Control up to 16 more remote entry points with expansion
boards.

Note: Separate elevator control board required for elevator
control.

• Maximum wire run between Expansion boards 1-8 is 500 feet total.
• Do not use twisted pair wire with weigand output format.
• Proper grounding is required! Ground wire should be a minimum 12 AWG.

• Maximum wire run between Expansion boards 9-16 is 500 feet total.
• Do not use twisted pair wire with weigand output format.
