Safety Precautions

Read the following safety information before setting up or using the
Luminex 100 IS 2.2 system. The user should be present during
operation. This system contains electrical, mechanical, and laser
components which, if handled improperly, are potentially harmful. In
addition, biological hazards may be present during system operation.
Therefore, we recommend that all system users become familiar with
the specific safety advisories below, in addition to adhering to
standard laboratory safety practices. The protection provided by the
equipment may be impaired or the warranty voided if the system is
used in a manner not specified by the instructions or by Luminex
Corporation.

Electrical

To prevent damage to your computer (PC), before you connect the
power cables, set the voltage selection on the power supply to match
the ac power available at your location.

115 volts (V) in most of North and South America and some Far
Eastern countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

230 volts (V) in most of Europe, the Middle East, and the Far
East.

Refer to the document that came with your PC to determine if
changing the voltage selection switch is required, and for instructions
on changing the switch setting.
